Rider Registration and Release Form

Prancing Horse exists to help people with special needs improve speech, balance, muscle tone, motor skills, and self-esteem. Each of these is addressed through an individualized lesson plan developed to meet the student's needs. The plan is devised to coordinate the goals of the doctor, parent and student.  At the end of each lesson an evaluation of progress is completed by the teacher with the help of the volunteers working with the student.

Our lesson program has been developed by our instructor, Susan Price (Susan bio.). Susan has worked with Prancing Horse since 2005 and has provided invaluable service in selecting horses, establishing programs and teaching. Supporting Susan is our team volunteers who selflessly give their time and energy to make it all happen.

Lessons are for one hour. The majority of the time is spent in the riding arena. The cost of the lessons is $30.00 per student for a small group lesson. Groups consist of from 3 - 5 students.  Each student has a volunteer working with them one-on-one to reinforce the teacher's lesson. Private lessons may be available at a cost of $45.00 per hour. For more information you may call Susan at 910-295-4103 or email us at: prancinghorsecenter@yahoo.com.

We have a limited number of openings in classes as we begin our program at Muddy Creek Farm. We have a great time during class and look forward to having you join us. For more information about us visit the rest of our web site.  You can also find more information about therapeutic riding by visiting the NARHA web site.  We are a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (

Before participating in therapeutic riding activities, individuals need to consult their physicians. Each prospective rider is required to present a complete medical history and a physician’s statement signed by their physician prior to a therapeutic riding session.
